After-class and weekend plans are an example based on a past itinerary published by the university (August 2025 session). Actual activities vary by year and session. Original itinerary

The three weeks end with a course project that you complete in English. It gives you something concrete to write about in university applications and on your CV or activities list. A certificate of completion is issued at the end.

A summer towrite about.

These are not English lessons. You listen to lectures, discuss, research and write, all in English. While still in high school, you get a first taste of the note-taking and academic writing that university requires.

Learnin English.

In class and in residence, you are with 15- to 18-year-olds from around the world. After class, at dinner and on weekends, you spend your time in English, so your speaking improves outside the classroom too.

Peers fromeverywhere.

Economics, law, psychology, statistics, film. Taking a subject you are curious about as a real university course for three weeks gives you clearer clues for choosing what to study.

Living at New College Residence

You live with classmates from around the world in a residence on the St. George campus, in the heart of Toronto. Rooms are single or double (subject to availability), with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a desk and a wardrobe. There is a 24-hour front desk and a security guard at night, and the building and each floor can only be entered with a key card.

Meals and supervision

Meals are an all-you-can-eat buffet at Audrey Taylor Dining Hall, with fruit, salads and even desserts (the dining hall is not nut-free). Canadian university students live in the residence as counselors and take turns on duty at night. Insurance is included in the program fee.
